Your Hypegirl, Strategist, and Wellness Wingwoman
Nov 19, 2024Heya, it’s me again :)
Before we dive in, let me clarify something important: most of the people I work with aren’t full-time wellness professionals. They have steady incomes and comfortable lives but feel a tug—a yearning for something deeper than money, material success, or societal benchmarks of achievement.
For many of us, having our basic needs met brings an unexpected revelation: we can “have it all” and still sense that something’s missing.
Many of my students have felt this too. Their journey into wellness often starts as a way to explore that missing piece. They’re inspired from within to offer care and support to others. And in serving others, they also start uncovering more about themselves.
This brings me to the point of today’s email:
If you’ve been put off by the glossy promises of six-figure business coaching ads, or if you’ve “tried on” traditional business models only to find they didn’t fit, let me reassure you—it’s not you.
The real issue may be that those business goals don’t align with your deeper purpose for stepping into this space.
If your reasons for starting a business include:
a) making a difference and helping others, and
b) exploring your own purpose and path,
you’re probably not focused on scaling to infinity or chasing profit margins right now—and that’s okay.
What if your ideal business is simple, smart, and driven by impact? What if it allows you to give back, serve sustainably, and stay true to your mission and values?
If that resonates, let’s be clear: you absolutely can make money as a wellness practitioner.
But how much you make—and how you define success—depends on:
- Your effort and skill level
- The experience you create for your clients
- The results you deliver
- Your karma and goals
- Most importantly, your needs and priorities
And, your income doesn’t define the success of your business.
If this is striking a chord, here are my top 3 tips to realign your work with your desire to serve:
- Redefine Success
Ask yourself: What does success mean to you? What are your goals? What would make your business feel meaningful and fulfilling? Success doesn’t have to look like a packed schedule or a giant bank account—it’s about what aligns with *you*.
- Build a Business Framework That Works for You
Think about your unique life circumstances. Maybe you want to take on just one client at a time, teach two yoga classes a week, or work behind the scenes in your industry. Your business should fit your life, not the other way around.
- Create a Simple, Sustainable Model
Start with what you can manage. Prioritise helping others, protecting your own health, and growing your skills gradually. Trust that as you grow personally and professionally, your business will evolve too.
Does this resonate with you?
